Like every other Greater Clevelander, I’ve suffered through too many years of being disappointed by our sports teams. (Then again, I was born and raised in Chicago, and the last time the Cubs were in the World Series was in 1944—and the last time they WON the Series was almost 100 years ago.) So at the moment I’m very thrilled with the way the Indians are playing. It’s a long season ahead of us, and anything might happen. But this spring, with all its lousy Cleveland weather, is making so many of us smile. If you might have an old hardcover copy of my Milan Jacovich novel, “The Lake Effect,” you’ll see my author photograph wearing an Jndjans jacket. Well—I’m wearing it again, this time with PRIDE.
