Read Any Good Movies Lately?

As a film critic as well as an author, I find myself wondering why Hollywood doesn’t make any more mystery movies.  Every year I watch great older films like the daddy of them all, The Maltese Falcon, along with Out of the Past, The Big Sleep, Murder My Sweet, The Last of Sheila, The Usual Suspects, and a big favorite of mine, Chinatown.   And let’s not forget the Alfred Hitchcock classics, North by Northwest, Rear Window, Vertigo, and naturally, Psycho, which sgtill scares hell out of everyone.  So many authors are writing great novels these days, but they rarely find their way to movie screens—which is while we all hope you’ll read and enjoy our books.  Maybe you’ll let Hollywood know just how good they are.
