Hi, Jack - re the Saxon books you mentioned are now being prepared as ebooks to be downloaded. They were published many years ago, and I doubt if anyone has hard copies. The ones that are selling via the Internet are fairly expensive. I DO have a few copies here (not Lemon Chicken Jones but the other two) I can sell. Check the prices listed on my website and email me if you're interested. Thanks. lr

Naturally the stories I read each morning or hear about on TV news did indeed result in my writing this story. Each morning I must read the paper and then rush in and add to my book what's actually going---and am trying NOT to make it a thousand pages long.

With a first sentence like that, I bet you are inspired by reading the local news reports in the Plain Dealer!

Making users scroll through a drop-down list of state abbreviations, rather than typing in two letters, is simply bad web design and has been known to be bad design since the early days of the web. Dr. Jakob Nielsen, arguably the world's preeminent expert on web usability, has been criticizing it since the late 90's! (Here's an article form 2000: www.useit.com/alertbox/20001112.html). In a survey he did in 2007 he found 49 out of 50 web sites still committed this design error (www.useit.com/alertbox/annoyances.html).

I can only conclude that the practice persists out of laziness and habit on the part of web designers.

Looking forward to the next chapter in the life of Milan, and not to indicate a spoiler (those who have not read The Cleveland Creep avert your eyes).... but Milan's bruised and battered and hasn't a real friend left in the world. Gee, Mr. Roberts, the happier your life, the worse for Milan's. I'm hoping we can give the guy a break somehow... but no matter what the storyline, I'll be reading. Early 2012 you say? I'll mark my calendar.

Joanne,
What's so special about Brier Hill pizza? I'd really like to know, so the next time I'm in Youngstown I'll know where to go. I was born and raised in Chicago---and back then, before pizza was nearly as popular as hamburgers and hot dogs, the ORIGINAL Pizzeria Uno was one of my favorite hangouts. (You'd go inside the small restaurant, place your order with the waitress, and then go outside and wait on the sidewalk until you were called. The mobs of pizza-lovers that went there all the time didn't even care that it was winter in Chicago and the sidewalk wait was a chilly one---as long as they could get their teeth into a Chicago pizza.
